Richard Craig Fowler

Richard Craig Fowler was born in Tacoma and lived in Germany, Tennessee, and Texas before entering 8th grade at North Mercer Jr. High. At MIHS, he was active in school sports, student politics and was Editor of the Mercer High Times paper. Rick made many great friends and graduated in 1968, going on to the University of Washington. He earned Eagle Scout rank and worked several summers for the MI Parks Department.Rick especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle on the newly opened I-5 freeway and express lanes in the mid 1960’s. He lived on his boat for 10 years, worked at Seattle Juvenile Court and two water districts-one on Orcas Island. Most recently he lived in a retirement community in Everett, where he died of diabetic complications in early February. Rick was the son of Vernon (deceased) and Marian A. Fowler, now of Mill Creek and the brother of Jeffrey.
