The world lost a shining light of sunshine on March 29, 2021 when Bobbie Hanson passed at her home on Bainbridge Island alongside her three children.
Born in Chicago, she first attended Wheaton College and graduated with a B.A. from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She eventually went on to become a teacher, educator and counsellor with a particular emphasis in helping teenagers during their developmental years and adults in their relationships. Later in life, she operated the Treehouse Bed & Breakfast on Mercer Island where she enjoyed hosting visitors and building personal relationships with people from around the world.
Bobbie was a voracious reader, an excellent gardener and an accomplished cook and entertainer. Known for her insight, her wisdom, her good listening skills and her curious mind, especially with regard to people, she had many meaningful relationships with diverse people whom she loved.
She offered a warm welcome and a homemade latte to whomever walked into her life.
She is survived by her ex-husband, John E. Hanson, a retired attorney who lives on Lopez Island; James D. Han- son, her brother-in-law and a retired physician in Seattle and her three kids. Kim Hanson and her family reside on Salt Spring Island in Canada; Brad Hanson lives on Mercer Island and Kandis is located in Laguna Beach, CA. She is also survived by her six grandchildren – Cameron Wrigley, Kristen Wrigley, Travis Wrigley, Gabriel Puhky, Andrew Hanson and Patrick Hanson.
The Memorial service will be held in August. If you are interested in attending, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
