Play2Nguyen, an amateur tennis team from Mercer Island, won the 4.5 division championship at the 2019 World TeamTennis Rec League Nationals from Nov. 1-3 in Palm Desert, California. The team consisted of non-playing captain Scott Nguyen, and players, Anhtu Hoang, Candice Canley, Chan Han, Chiaki Yoshikawa, Damien David, Michelle Nguyen, Nanami Akatsuka and Thong Nguyen. The team posted a perfect 5-0 record, including a 36-13 victory over Team Gus Gus in their final match. A total of 68 teams competed in 10 separate divisions competed at the competition.
