LW defeats Mercer Island in football action

Lake Washington defeated Mercer Island, 28-13, in 3A KingCo football action on Oct. 22 in Kirkland.

LW led 14-7 at halftime and built a 28-7 advantage in the fourth quarter.

For MI, in the second quarter Vince Catano scored on a 1-yard run and Samir Lumba tacked on the PAT. In the fourth, Garrett Rogan tallied on an 8-yard pass from Eli Fahey and the kick was no good.

MI (1-4 in league and 3-5 overall) will next play Newport at home at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29.
