The Mercer Island baseball team traveled to play Juanita on Monday night at Lee Johnson Field in Kirkland. The Islanders won 4-0.

The Mercer Island baseball team traveled to play Juanita on Monday night at Lee Johnson Field in Kirkland. The Islanders won 4-0.

Mercer Island was up 2-0 at the end of the first inning, and added another run in the bottom of the second for a 3-0 lead. The score remained 3-0 until the seventh inning, when the team added their final run of the game.

On the mound, Mercer Island pitchers Alfonso Gonzalez and Karsten Sherman combined for the two-hit shutout against the Rebels.

The Islanders will travel to play Liberty on Wednesday, April 10 n a 4:30 p.m. game. Friday the team will host Mount Si in a 6 p.m. match at Island Crest Park.
