The Mercer Island girls golf team will send one to next week's 3A state tournament after the SeaKing district championships held earlier this week.

The Mercer Island girls golf team will send one to next week’s 3A state tournament after the SeaKing district championships held earlier this week.

The SeaKing championships were held on Monday, May 13 at Riverbend Golf Course in Kent. Mercer Island finished with 2.5 team points. Interlake, the team that also won the KingCo league championships a week before, won the district title with 51 points.

Individually, the top 21 golfers advanced from districts to the state meet. Mercer Island’s Madison Pearson finished with a 95 overall to qualify for the state tournament. Lakeside’s Libby Ramsey earn the individual SeaKing district title with an 80. Full results from the tournament were not available.

The 3A state tournament will be held starting on May 21 at Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland.
