MIHS boys golf swings to state

Mercer Island High School’s boys golf team tied for third at the 3A SeaKing District Tournament on Oct. 27 at Druid’s Glen Golf Club in Covington. The Islanders secured their spot in the state tournament in May by posting one of the five lowest team scores — a 292 — in district tournament history. The team finished three under on the 18th hole to qualify for state by a single stroke. Alex Harwood notched second medalist honors with a 67.
