The winningest prep boys lacrosse coach in the state is stepping down from his post on the varsity sidelines.
Mercer Island girls tennis opened its 2016 season in sweeping fashion. Two days after claiming a 7-0 win over Inglemoor, the reigning 3A champion Islanders scored another 7-0 victory over reigning 4A champs Newport Thursday at Newport High School.

Mercer Island senior Jess Blakeslee was selected to play in the 2016 Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association (WSGBCA) 3A/4A All State game Saturday at King’s High School in Seattle. Blakeslee scored eight points as the 3A all-star girls rolled to a 117-73 win.
