City of Mercer Island announces 2013 Hometown Heroes

The City of Mercer Island has announced the 2013 Hometown Heroes.

The City of Mercer Island has announced the 2013 Hometown Heroes.

Each year, citizen from the Island nominate local volunteers who have donated a significant amount of time and energy to helping and improving life on Mercer Island.

This year’s heroes include: Kaya McRuer and Cristina Scalzo for their work as Youth Drugs and Alcohol Prevention leaders, Kim Thomas and Sarah LeClercq for work with the Mercer Island Preschool Assocation, Pete Higgins and Jerry Goldberg for work as Mercer Island High School baseball boosters, Kris Brackmann as the Seattle Time female Athlete of the Year and Sean Quinn and Devin Nelson for work as Mercer Island emergency volunteers and Eagle Scouts.

The City offered its thanks for their significant contributions.
