MIHS drama’s “Urinetown” takes final curtain call this weekend

The Mercer Island High School drama department will present the final three performances of its fall musical “Urinetown” at 7 p.m. Nov. 17, 18 and 19 in the Performing Arts Center.

There’s a water shortage in town, and Urine Good Company, a big money corporation owns all the restrooms. Citizens are forced to pay to use the restroom, and so the poor cannot afford to pee. A revolution ensues. “Urinetown” is a satirical musical that pokes fun at all other musicals and makes a social commentary on big money and our treatment of the poor.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Seniors 65 and older and children under 7 are $5. Advance tickets can be purchased through the cast or online.
