St. Monica runners shine at CYO cross country championships

Several St. Monica School cross country runners had strong showings at the CYO cross country championship meet on Oct. 9 at Lake Sammamish State Park.

Several St. Monica School cross country runners had strong showings at the CYO cross country championship meet on Oct. 9 at Lake Sammamish State Park.

Nolan Chatalas won the fourth grade boys 1-mile race, finishing in 5:59.7.

Pablo De Lucas Saucedo was runner-up in the fifth grade boys 1-mile race at 5:45.7. Fifth-grader Maya Lawrence placed 10th in the girls race at 6:50.4.

Hailey Pittiglio placed third in the sixth grade girls 1.2-mile race with a time of 7:47.5 and a pace of 6:29 per mile. Eighth-grader Christina Crow was runner up in the girls 1.7-mile race, finishing in 10:11.7 and pacing at 5:59 per mile.
