Mercer Island High School freshman Tanner Linton served as a legislative page in the state House of Representatives. Tanner was sponsored by state Rep. Fred Jarrett, R-Mercer Island.

Tanner is the son of Island residents Paige and David Linton.

Tanner’s responsibilities included delivering messages and documents to legislators in their offices, committee meetings, and House chambers during floor sessions.

In addition to his assigned duties, Tanner spent time in Legislative Page School learning about state government.

Since 1891, young people from across the state have come to Olympia to serve as pages for the Washington State House of Representatives. Nearly 400 students between the ages of 14 and 16 will participate this year in the program.
