Island resident Marsha Karr will be one of the featured artists in a local art show mounted at Mercer Island Art Gallery and Custom Framing at 2729 78th Ave. S.E.
“Her soft, soothing landscapes of water are beautiful,” said gallery art consultant Levente Nagy. “She uses soft colors and no harsh contrast to create a mood.”
Karr has eight pieces in the show, while artists from Snohomish, Bellevue, Kirkland and Seattle round out the other 17 pieces in the exhibit. Most of the works on display are paintings, with the exception of bronze reliefs created by Heidi Wastweet of Seattle. Prices for work in the show range from $700 to $5,000.
There will be an artists reception with wine and cheese from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, and the show will run through the end of April.
Art from the gallery can be viewed on-line at www.mercerislandart.com or contact the gallery at 275-3764 for more information.
