Mercer Island competes in two invitationals | Track & field

The Mercer Island girls and boys track teams competed in separate invitationals over the weekend. The boys headed to Shoreline for the Shoreline Invitational, while the girls went to Lake Washington High School for the Lake Washington Invitational.

Individually, Carly Andersen finished first on Saturday in the javelin with a toss of 128 feet and three inches.

The Islanders will host a meet this Thursday, May 3 at 4 p.m. against Mount Si and 2A Cedarcrest.
