Mercer Island High School senior Celina Solomon, an eight year member of the Eastside FC 93 Red team, will play with the team during the U.S. Youth Soccer 2012 Far West Regional tournament this June.
The team qualified after winning the Washington State Championships Cup on May 13. The Red team beat Dosvadanyee 1-0 to move forward. The team is coached by Olympic silver medalist and current Sounders women coach Michelle French and former UW men’s coach Frank Gallo.
Solomon and the team will travel to Phoenix in June to represent the state in the U18 division. Solomon was a co-captain of the MIHS girls team in the fall and will play in college at Chapman University in California.
