‘Disney and Dessert’ fundraiser for Mercer Island orchestra students is Feb. 26

Mercer Island orchestra students will perform at the annual Disney and Dessert fundraiser at 2 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the Mercer Island High School Commons.

Disney and Dessert is the only fundraiser for all seven of Mercer Island School District’s orchestras (grades 5-12). The event is organized by the “Team O” booster club, a 501(c)(3) organization that is a primary source of funding for instruments, music coaching, workshops and performance tours.

Maggie Taylor, Team O committee member, said Disney and Dessert is “a fun family event for young and old alike.”

“The orchestra dresses in Disney costumes and plays some well-loved Disney tunes for all to enjoy and sing along,” she said.

Kids are also welcome to come in their favorite Disney character costumes.

A delicious array of desserts, along with beverages, will be served.

Tickets are $15 in advance, and $20 at the door. One 5th grade orchestra student is admitted free with a paying adult.
