MIHS seniors win corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards

National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has announced that two Mercer Island High School seniors have won corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
The local winners are:
Amelia Bernson will receive a Boeing scholarship and listed a probable career field of mechanical engineering
Madison Sieckhaus will receive a National Distillers Distributors Foundation scholarship and listed a probable career field of dance.
They are among approximately 700 distinguished high school seniors to garner these awards. Most of these awards are renewable for up to four years of college undergraduate study and provide annual stipends that range from $1,000 to $10,000 per year, according to a press release.
