Lecher will discuss lifelong learning at Aug. 5 Rotary meeting

Natalie Lecher, director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Washington (OLLI-UW), will discuss “Lifelong Learning on Mercer Island” at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on Aug. 5 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St.
The main meeting begins at 12:30 p.m.; socializing is from noon to 12:30 p.m. Guests are always welcome and there is no fee to attend. A catered lunch is available for $25, or attendees can bring their own meal.
Lecher enjoys learning right along with the members of OLLI-UW. She has experience as a teacher, social worker, volunteer manager and has been the director of OLLI-UW for 15 years. She enjoys spending time with her giant Schnauzer, husband and two sons as well as rowing at Green Lake as a result of learning about rowing in an OLLI-UW lecture and read of “Boys in the Boat.”
