Free senior community lunch set for May 11

A Mercer Island Seniors Rising “Chit Chat Chew” free senior community lunch will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 11 at the Mercer Island Community and Events Center. Hot dogs, salads, chips, cookies and refreshments will be served.
According to a lunch announcement, a senior group is working to increase the number of activities for seniors, including fitness, educational and social events as well as meals and transportation. The group is aiming for a large turnout at the lunch and hopes to hear from the community about what activities they are interested in.
The event is brought to seniors by the Mercer Island Community Fund, City of Mercer Island Youth and Family Services and the Mercer Island Youth and Family Services Foundation.
