Delivery truck catches fire on Mercer Island

An Albert Lee Appliance delivery truck caught fire and the blaze spread to a nearby bush on the morning of May 27 in the 9600 block of Southeast 71st Street on Mercer Island.
Eastside Fire & Rescue (EF&R) engine 192 arrived on scene at 9:56 a.m. and crews quickly contained and extinguished the fire by 10:04 a.m. without further incident, according to EF&R Public Information Officer Catherine Imboden. No injuries were reported.
Police and the sole unit responded to the call, which came in at 9:50 a.m. with the reporting party noting that flames were spotted underneath the truck.
