Senior events on tap in July and August

The city of Mercer Island will host its next free Senior Social Seminar at 10 a.m. on July 28 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center.
Your Senior Tech Executive Director Ashlyn Sidhu will present “Digital Safety and How to Spot a Scam.”
The event features complimentary coffee, tea and a light snack.
Chit, Chat, Chew
The city of Mercer Island’s Youth and Family Services (MIYFS) is hosting another Chit, Chat, Chew free community lunch and conversation for Island seniors as part of the Seniors Rising Newsletter and Initiative from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 10 at the community and event center.
“Enjoy burgers, salads, chips, cookies and other refreshments in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere while connecting with fellow Island seniors in the community,” the city said.
This event celebrates the August edition of the Seniors Rising Newsletter, promotes access to resources for seniors, and is generously sponsored by the MIYFS Foundation and the Mercer Island Community Fund.
