Mercer Island’s Kaleb Warner has been selected to play in the Multnomah Athletic Foundation’s 20th annual Northwest Shootout basketball All Star games Saturday, April 26 at Liberty High School in Hillsboro, Ore. The basketball games feature boys and girls high school seniors from Oregon and Washington.
Warner was a three-year starter for Mercer Island’s boys basketball team, averaging 14.4 points per game to lead the Islanders in scoring this season. He was a member of the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association’s (WIBCA) 3A All-State team and was among the Washington state nominees for the 2014 McDonald’s All American game.
The Northwest Shootout is a fundraiser for the Multnomah Athletic Foundation, a non-profit organization with community grants and scholarship funding focused on the Portland metropolitan area. Past high school players to participate in the Northwest Shootout include Nate Robinson, Mike Dunleavy, Terrell Brandon, Rodney Stuckey, Adam Morrison and Fred Jones.
The 2014 Northwest Shootout basketball All Star games will begin with the girls game at 4 p.m. April 26, followed by the boys game at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and will be available at the door at 3 p.m. on game day.
