15 MIHS students qualify for state music contest

Fifteen music students from Mercer Island High School qualified to participate at the WIAA State Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Central Washington University. Twelve students placed in their category.

First Place, Large Brass Ensemble – MIHS Trombone Choir (Max Waller, Kate Panza, Jack Price, Hannah Kris and Tynan McGee)

First Place, Marimba – Verli Chen

Second Place, Trombone – Tynan McGee

Third Place, Clarinet – Lauren Nakatsu

Third Place, Large Percussion Ensemble – MIHS Percussion Ensemble (Verli Chen, Daniel Pooley, Marissa Look, Larissa Bitners, Matt McLellan and Chris Shin)
