Garden Club students at Lakeridge harvested their first round of donations for Mercer Island Youth and Family Services’ new refrigerated pantry on June 5, including a dozen heads of lettuce, six bundles of kale and many bouquets of rosemary and thyme.

The partnership between the garden club and MIYFS was inspired by the student council’s involvement with the WE Day organization. Their mission is to help teach kids to shift their focus from “me” to “we” and work to help others.
