Native Plant Garden hosts two weekend events

The Native Plant Garden Weeding Work Party will take place on June 2 from 10 a.m. to noon in Mercerdale Park.

Tools and cookies will be provided but attendees may wish to bring their own work gloves. More information can be found at protectMIparks.org or by emailing protectMIparks@gmail.com.

The Native Plant Garden Summer Showcase will take place on June, 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Mercerdale Park.

Volunteers will be available to introduce visitors to native plants, provide bird stickers for kids. Attendees will be able to grab free raffle for cedar birdhouse, buy lunch at the Farmers’ Market and enjoy it on shaded benches. Watch for the resident Anna’s Hummingbird. At 1 p.m. attendees can participate in a tour, especially for children and families, led by junior naturalists.
