Sidewalk signs ugly and unsafe

Sidewalk signs have become blight all over Mercer Island. Fine communities that retain their home values keep a pastoral appearance to the community. Advertising on signboards does not increase business. A law should be passed that mandates good looking signage in neutral colors at each business, showing the name and address of each building on the property and not on the sidewalk, where passersby can trip and fall over these unsightly signs.
