City council formally recognizes MIYFS Foundation

Last week, the Mercer Island City Council formally recognized Mercer Island School District partner, the Mercer Island Youth & Family Services (MIYFS) Foundation, with Resolution No. 1681 for the foundation’s ongoing contribution since 1989. The foundation’s sole purpose is to raise funds to support MIYFS. Along with the city and proceeds from the Mercer Island Thrift Shop, they fund the MIYFS in-school counselor positions at each of the school district’s elementary schools, Islander Middle School and at Mercer Island High School.
