O’Callahan for school board

I’m pleased to endorse Robert O’Callahan for Mercer Island School Board, Position 4. Now more than ever, transparency and trust are essential to keeping our children safe and ensuring that every student receives an education that reflects their unique strengths and potential. Rob brings both analytical thinking and collaboration to the table. As an AI engineer, startup founder, single father of two, and newcomer to our community, he’s been knocking on thousands of doors – listening, asking thoughtful questions, and focusing on practical, data-driven solutions that deliver results. The prerequisite for fixing the system and holding it accountable is independence – free from union influence or political ties. We need someone like Rob who will represent students and the fiduciary duty owed to taxpayers, just as unions represent their members. Rob is our best chance at restoring balance and trust. His strength also lies in bringing people together around facts, not factions – working constructively with administrators, teachers, and parents to address curriculum challenges, support student needs, and reduce attrition, which is key to long-term financial stability. I’m confident Robert O’Callahan will listen to the community and advocate for students without being pressured by personal connections or political endorsements. He will bring a transparent and collaborative approach grounded in integrity, accountability, and responsibility to every decision. Islanders who value openness, clear thinking, and a fresh, independent perspective should join me in voting for Robert O’Callahan, Position 4.
