Body recovered from Lake Washington near Luther Burbank Park

The Mercer Island Police Department (MIPD) recovered the body of a 35-year-old male at about 7:45 a.m. this morning from Lake Washington near Luther Burbank Park.

According to a MIPD press release, its investigators have confirmed that the deceased individual is the person reported missing on April 21. A previous Reporter article noted that on that day, MIPD began concentrating its search efforts in the area where the body was found.

“Officers are in the process of notifying family members. The individual’s name is not being released at this time,” MIPD said.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death after the body is transferred to its office in Seattle.

MIPD said that no further information is available at this time.
