Special to the Reporter

As one of the Pacific Northwest’s most celebrated summer traditions returns, KMIH 88.9 The Bridge — Mercer Island High School’s award-winning, student-run radio station — will once again be the only radio station providing live Seafair coverage throughout the entire weekend.

From July 31-Aug. 2, KMIH transforms into Log Boom Radio — your soundtrack to Seafair featuring the best summer hits, live event coverage and everything fans need to stay connected to the excitement on and above Lake Washington.

Listeners can once again enjoy legendary Seattle broadcaster Mark Christopher’s iconic live play-by-play and color commentary of the Unlimited Hydroplane races, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and all the action in between.

Throughout the weekend, KMIH’s student broadcasters and staff will keep listeners informed with Seafair news, event updates, community features and music that captures the spirit of summer. One of the highlights of the broadcast is the official Blue Angels Air Show, a narrated program that follows the Blue Angels throughout their performance.

“Seafair is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most cherished traditions, and we’re proud to continue sharing it with our community while giving our students the opportunity to be part of a professional, live broadcast,” said Natalie Woods, broadcast media teacher and community outreach coordinator for KMIH 88.9 The Bridge. “From Log Boom Radio to the hydroplanes and Blue Angels, our students help bring this incredible weekend to listeners across the region and beyond.”

Tune in all weekend long to 88.9 FM on the radio, download the KMIH App for live streaming or tune in online at TheBridge.org.
