A vacation home owned by Mercer Island resident Jon Rorem and his family near the town of Cle Elum, just east of Snoqualmie Pass, was spared from the Taylor Bridge wildfire.
The construction along Island Crest Way will continue this week, as crews repave the road.
On Wednesday, Aug. 15 the entire northbound side of the road will be paved in the southbound direction. Side streets will be closed as the paving process passes them, but cars will be detoured north and south along 88th and 90th Avenue for access to the neighborhoods east of Island Crest Way.
