Mercer Island No Kings March participants walk across the Interstate 90 bridge coming from Aubrey Davis Park on Mercer Island on March 28. In a press release, noting that more than 1,200 people attended the march, organizer Gene Robertson said, “We have a lot of fun! Mercer Island is a small town, but like everywhere, people are busy. I heard a lot of happy comments about reunions among preschool families, and warm encounters with neighbors.” At the front of the park, another organizer enthusiastically stated into a megaphone: “Welcome to No Kings Mercer Island! It’s a beautiful day for a protest!” The No Kings marches are sponsored nationwide by Indivisible to protest the undemocratic conduct of the Trump administration, reads the press release.
