Even if the weather doesn’t feel like it yet, the season of being outdoors is upon Mercer Island and it’s time to celebrate National Trails Day and the kickoff to the letterboxing season.

On June 1 join other Mercer Island residents in the celebration, which will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Pioneer Park on the southern end of the Island.

Islanders can check out the forest, pick up a letterboxing club book, make a stamp and get the hunt underway.
