City council will hold two public hearings on May 3

City council will hold public hearings regarding the Town Center moratorium and the six-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) at its May 3 meeting.

Council will receive comments on an ordinance authorizing the members to approve a six-month extension of the moratorium on the submission or acceptance of applications for any building permits or any other land use approvals for major new construction for properties located within certain areas of the Town Center.

Another portion of the meeting will focus on the draft TIP for 2023-2028, which covers roadway, pedestrian and bicycle projects. State law requires that the TIP be updated and adopted by the city annually, and it is scheduled for adoption at the June 7 meeting.

Detailed instructions on how to comment live during the public hearings will be available online on or before April 27 at: https://letstalk.mercergov.org/councilconnects.
