Veterans Appreciation Event: 11 a.m., July 14, Veterans Pergola, Mercerdale Park. Mercer Island veterans will lead Mercer Island’s Summer Celebration Parade through downtown Mercer Island. They will march to the entrance of Mercerdale Park and meet at the Pergola for the community’s chance to say, “Thank you for your service.” The VFW Blue Star banner and live music by the Dave Irish Combo will be included.
