Fastpitch blanks Lindbergh

The Mercer Island girls fastpitch team earned another nonconference win, blanking Lindbergh 7-0 Tuesday, March 25 at South Mercer Playfield. Morgan Peyou led the way for the Islanders, batting 3-4 and scoring 3 runs while also pitching the entire game, allowing one hit and striking out 14. Next, the Islanders will open KingCo conference competition, hosting Lake Washington at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 31 at South Mercer Playfield.

Boys lacrosse shuts out Mount Si

Islander boys lacrosse improved to 5-0 Monday night, shutting out Mount Si 19-0 at Mercer Island Stadium. Peter Mahony had 6 goals, 3 assists and 3 ground balls for Mercer Island, while Reid Fuhr had 2 goals, 2 assists and 3 ground balls. Cooper Johnson contributed 3 goals, 1 assist and 5 ground balls, and Evan Condon had 3 goals, 1 assist and 7 ground balls. Next, Mercer Island High School will host the Northwest Invitational, an 18-team boys lacrosse invitational featuring inter-regional competition. The Islanders will take on Colorado’s Columbine High School at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 27 at Islander Middle School.
