Governor reappoints Wellman

Mercer Island resident, Lisa Wellman, was recently appointed to a second term on the Washington state Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) by Governor Christine Gregoire. The board, under the Department of Commerce, is Washington’s strategic economic development resource, focused on creating and retaining jobs in partnership with local government. CERB finances public infrastructure to encourage new development and expansion in targeted areas.

Wellman represents small businesses from Puget Sound to the Cascades and from the northern border of the state to the southern. Although a former Apple vice president, she has headed a number of small companies in the Seattle area. She is also on the Board of Washington Community Alliance for Self-Help (CASH), a micro-enterprise development nonprofit.
