Kelly and Dine will discuss food security at April 2 Rotary meeting

Dr. Peter Kelly and Jennifer Dine of Grow Further will discuss “Food Security in the Face of Climate Change” at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on April 2 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St. The main meeting begins at 12:30 p.m. Guests are always welcome and there is no fee to attend. An optional buffet lunch is available for purchase.

Grow Further creates ways for farmers, scientists and people around the world to work together in pursuit of global food security in the face of climate change. Grow Further provides individuals and organizational donors who care about the future of food security with a powerful and transparent mechanism to fund and engage with agricultural innovation projects.

Kelly is CEO and founder of Grow Further. Prior to founding Grow Further, he was an assistant professor of economics at Renmin University in Beijing, where he taught and published on agriculture, international development and the environment.

Membership director Dine leads efforts in cultivating donor relationships and organizational partnerships, involving recruitment and engagement. She enjoys the personal connections that result from relationship and account management, particularly in her recent work in partnership development in the nonprofit sector, where she hopes to spend the remainder of her career.
