The Office of Secretary of State invites students in grades 4 and 5 to enter the 2013 Kids’ Art Contest. The winning art will be featured in the 2013 Washington State General Election Voters’ Pamphlet.

Last year, there were 3.5 million Voters’ Pamphlet copies distributed statewide. The winning artist will also receive a surprise visit from Secretary of State Kim Wyman at his or her school.

“The art contest is a good, fun way for students to think about voting and elections. I look forward to seeing some of the top artwork submitted and meeting the contest winner,” Wyman said.

The theme for this year is “I am a change maker.” This art contest is an opportunity for Washington’s youngest citizens to be a part of elections and think about what they would value as voters. Students enter the contest by submitting their art with an entry form no later than April 19.
