Parties to the case involving the City of Mercer Island, et al, and former city attorney and assistant city manager, Londi Lindell, appear to have reached some sort of settlement. As of press time Tuesday morning, no further information was available.

Papers were hand-delivered to the parties on Monday that state “the parties have resolved all outstanding claims” in the case. However, the details about the settlement have been sealed by the court.

United States District Court Judge James Robart has ordered the parties not to discuss ongoing communications about the case, said City Attorney Katie Knight, who added: “No settlement has been effectuated.”

A final settlement amount, if paid, is determined by the city’s insurance company.

The latest trial date has been postponed and a hearing on a pending motion is set for Wednesday, she said.

In December 2008, Lindell sued the city and individuals within the city government, for $1 million in damages in a federal sex discrimination lawsuit.
