Mather will discuss hydropower and more at Nov. 18 Rotary meeting

Clark Mather will discuss “Hydropower, Climate Stress and Grid Reliability in the Northwest” at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on Nov. 18 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St.

The main meeting begins at 12:30 p.m.; socializing is from noon to 12:30 p.m. Guests are always welcome and there is no fee to attend. A catered lunch is available for $25, or attendees can bring their own meal.

Mather, who was appointed executive director of NW RiverPartners in April 2024, reports to the board and leads the NW RiverPartners team to educate communities and advocate for clean, reliable and affordable hydropower. He joined NW RiverPartners after 11 years with Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU), serving the last seven years as the organization’s government affairs officer. Prior to his time at TPU, Mather served in senior advisory roles for U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (WA) and Former Congressman Norm Dicks (WA-06). Throughout his congressional service, Mather focused on important regional issues including energy, defense, veterans, water, public lands, economic development and agriculture.
