Property destruction

A woman living in the 9200 block of S.E. 59th Street reported that her son caused “extensive damage” to her residence on Nov. 17. According to the police report, miscellaneous glass artifacts, lamps, mirrors and a window were shattered. A wooden banister and oven were also damaged. The approximate repair cost is $2,000.

Car prowls

An unlocked vehicle parked in the 4300 block of Fernbrook Drive was prowled on the night of Nov. 17. According to the police report, about $100 worth of new clothing was stolen from the Volvo. Some stolen items were discovered in the side yard of the residence. No evidence was collected and no suspects have been identified.

A woman living in the 9500 block of S.E. 43rd Street reported that her Jeep Cherokee was prowled on the night of Nov. 17. According to the police report, the thief stole various photography equipment and paperwork from the car, which had been parked in front of the woman’s residence unlocked. A tripod bag with photographic umbrellas was found in the neighbor’s yard. The approximate loss is $1,000.

Burglary

A leaf blower belonging to the Redeemer Lutheran Church was stolen sometime last month, along with $60 in cash. According to the police report, the leaf blower was stolen from the church’s storage room on or around Oct. 15. The thief had key access to the storage room. Between Oct. 28 and Oct. 30, somebody with key access gained entry to the church’s main office and stole approximately $60 in cash.

A woman living in the 4000 block of East Mercer Way reported that her house was ransacked on Nov. 17. According to the report, the woman left her home at 8:30 a.m. When she returned at 12:30 p.m., she discovered that every room had been searched and that her credit cards and checks were missing. The total loss is still pending. No suspects have been identified.

A couple living in the 6000 block of Island Crest Way reported that their Saab 900 and LCD television were stolen from their residence on Nov. 17. According to the police report, the home was entered without force. Once inside the residence, the thief stole the keys to the Saab and the TV set.

Arrests

A Mercer Island man was arrested for possession of marijuana on Nov. 17. According to the police report, the man was pulled over in the 2800 block of 78th Avenue S.E. for a traffic violation. The officer discovered a glass pipe with marijuana inside. The same substance was also discovered in a plastic bag. The man was arrested, cited and released.

A 19-year-old male with an outstanding Issaquah misdemeanor warrant on his name was arrested in the 2500 block of 81st Avenue S.E. on Nov. 18. According to the police report, the man was arrested and transported to the Issaquah Jail.

A transient from Seattle was arrested for an outstanding Mercer Island misdemeanor warrant on Nov. 19. Seattle police officers found the 41-year-old in the 9600 block of S.E. 36th Street. The man was booked into the Issaquah Jail.

A 47-year-old Seattle resident was arrested for stealing $2.88 in cash from the tip jar at Baskin & Robbins on Nov. 21. According to the police report, the subject entered the ice cream parlor, grabbed the money from the tip jar and fled on his bicycle. The subject was found at the Shell station on 78th Avenue S.E. He was arrested and booked into jail.

An employee at the North-end QFC caught a subject stealing merchandise on Nov 18. According to the police report, the subject walked out of the store without paying for his or her (the sex was not identified) items. The employee witnessed this theft and called the subject back into the store. The subject returned the stolen merchandise and fled the store. A photograph of the suspect is available from QFC’s security tape.

A Seattle man was arrested in the 2400 block of 76th Avenue S.E. for driving with a suspended license on Nov. 21. According to the police report, the man was pulled over for a traffic infraction. He was booked into the Issaquah Jail.
