On the morning of Oct. 18, thousands of Washington residents will “drop, cover and hold on” in The Great Washington ShakeOut, the state’s largest earthquake drill ever. Major earthquakes can happen anywhere you work, live or travel in Washington.

The ShakeOut Drill is a chance to practice protecting oneself when an earthquake strikes.

The City of Mercer Island staff and the Mercer Island School District will be participating in the 2012 ShakeOut Drill.

You can participate as well; individuals, families, businesses, schools, colleges, government agencies and organizations are all invited to register.
