Mercer Island High School’s drill team will present “The Spirit Dance” from 9:30 p.m. to midnight on Sept. 9 in the school commons.

Tickets are $10 advance and $15 at the door and ASB cards are required for entry. The fundraiser allows the team to pay for its competitions, choreographers, equipment needs, workshops, supplies and continuing education.

The event, which hasn’t been held since before the pandemic, will take place following the school’s first home football game.

“Only this year’s seniors have been a part of this spectacular event back in their freshman year and know firsthand the electrifying energy of the first dance of the new school year. We are so proud to bring back ‘The Spirit Dance’ and look forward to celebrating with the rest of the school,” said Kyle Mosler, the drill team’s head coach.
