James Paul will discuss The TANK Center for Sonic Arts at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s July 20 meeting.
The main meeting will begin at 12:45 p.m. and can be accessed at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/4096976967. All are welcome.
Paul is executive director of The TANK Center for Sonic Arts in Rangely, Colorado. He has had a career of more than 25 years as a grant writer, arts administrator and executive director of nonprofit arts organizations. The TANK is a 60-foot tall, 30-foot across rusted steel water tank —- never used —- that was discovered in Colorado by sound artist and sonic thinker Bruce Odland in 1976. A small group of musicians have been recording there ever since.
