Fraud: While playing an online game, a minor in the 7300 block of 84th Avenue Southeast was tricked by another gamer into providing 2-factor authentication, enabling the hacker to gain access of the minor’s gaming account. After the hacker demanded payment in order to return the minor’s login credentials, the minor paid the fee online. The hacker did not return the account.

Eluding: Officers responded to the 7400 block of Southeast 24th Street after a 911 caller reported seeing a vehicle driving alongside mailboxes and its occupant exiting to look inside the boxes. After officers located a vehicle matching the suspect description and initiated a traffic stop, the vehicle failed to yield to officers and fled the Island.

Mailboxes part two: A resident in the 6200 block of East Mercer Way reported a damaged mailbox in a bank of boxes.

Malicious mischief: Graffiti was found on the bathroom at a city park in the 3000 block of 77th Avenue Southeast.

April 30

Attempted robbery: Police arrested one suspect shortly after an attempted robbery was reported at a business in the 2700 block of 77th Avenue Southeast. After multiple suspects attempted to steal merchandise from the business, they fled in a vehicle. Police soon contacted a vehicle matching a description they received and took the suspect into custody. The investigation is active, and no further details are available at press time.

Vehicle prowl: A resident in the 7800 block of Southeast 28th Street reported that someone smashed one of their vehicle windows and stole a firearm.
