Roll up your sleeves, it’s fall clean-up time

Help local volunteers and Mercer Island residents keep the Island clean by participating in one of several events this fall. On Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., help with urban forest restoration at Ellis Pond. Meet at 90th Avenue S.E., south of S.E. 45th Street, and register online at www.earthcorps.org.

This weekend is also the city’s annual Fall Recycling event. Dispose of old equipment and household items from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MI Boat Launch, located at 3600 E. Mercer Way.
