A celebration of life service has been planned for Steve Newman, the long time Mercer Island boys soccer coach and Eastside resident who died Oct. 12.

A service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church.

A note from the family said: “Longtime Eastside resident, loving brother to Nick, Judy and Val, uncle to 7, world traveler, and adored MIHS boys soccer coach for 15 years, died suddenly Oct. 12, 2012, peacefully at home.”
