Snow possible Monday afternoon as drivers head to football game

Snow and ice could affect commuters and Monday Night Football fans

The Washington State Department of Transportation and the Washington State Patrol are teaming up to keep traffic moving as a cold front threatens to bring snow and ice to the Seattle area on Monday.

The current forecast calls for freezing temperatures and possible snow north between Everett and Canada by early Monday morning, and arriving in the Seattle area by Monday afternoon. Commuters throughout Western Washington and drivers headed to the Monday Night Football game at CenturyLink Field are urged to plan for winter driving conditions.

To keep traffic moving before and after the football game, WSDOT maintenance crews will be out in force working clear snow and ice from the highways. WSP troopers will escort plows and sand trucks through traffic if necessary.
