The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reported a couple collisions causing significant backup on I-90 eastbound near the exits on East and West Mercer Way Thursday morning.

WSDOT reported a crash blocking the two right lanes on I-90 after East Mercer Way just before 9 a.m., causing a traffic backup that extended to I-5. Shortly after 10 a.m., a collision east of West Mercer Way blocked the left lane inside the tunnel.

WSDOT encouraged drivers via its Twitter feed to take alternate routes to the eastside.
